With a track and basketball coach as a father, I started my fitness journey early, trailing behind the family on our jogs through the park. I was lucky to have active parents who instilled a love of health and fitness, along with learning and creativity which has stayed with me all my life. Well, most of it has been life long - we can all agree that dropping the oboe playing in 10th grade was the best decision for all involved...
Back to health and fitness though - as active as I was, I also often found myself with some sort of recurring joint or muscle pain that lead to a long pattern of train, injury, recovery ~ train, injury, repeat. As I started my professional fitness training I quickly became focused on understanding and correcting underlying patterns and dysfunctions that derail so many of our attempts to get fit and healthy. I wanted to help those people who were doing 'everything right' and still struggling with weight loss or chronic pain. Exploring patterns and connections ranging from brain function and nutritional deficiencies to stress and autoimmunity has been a continuing educational journey and given me an invaluable base of holistic knowledge that gets my clients real results that last.
Through Body McKanics Fitness personal training, I get the pleasure of empowering clients to create their healthiest, fittest bodies - whether in person in Glendale or Pasadena, or online all over the world. Working with busy artists, writers, actors and creative types has kept me on the cutting edge of what works while also making it fun and interesting.
I love watching my clients achieve their goals ~ whether it's to lose 20 pounds, complete a marathon, alleviate chronic back pain or get ready for that next role.
